A new decade of Chamber Music by the Sea begins

(Berlin, MD, May 2026) – Chamber Music by the Sea ushers in its second decade

on the Eastern Shore with a week-long celebration August 9-15 and we look

forward to seeing you there! Six internationally acclaimed musicians will travel to

Worcester County for varied performances guaranteed to delight audience

members of all ages, in venues ranging across Berlin and Snow Hill.

The festival begins with a musical stroll in America’s Coolest Small Town,

downtown Berlin. Four unique venues on Berlin’s Main Street (the Mermaid

Museum, Art Collective at the Factory, Atlantic Hotel lounge, and Reverie Wine

Bar) will host the musicians on Sunday, August 9 from 2:00-5:00 PM to whet your

appetite for what is to come with free performances and a chance to mingle.

Throughout the week, events will take place in Berlin’s historic Atlantic Hotel,

Berlin Public Library, Zenna Wellness, Temple Bat Yam, and the lawn of the Calvin

B. Taylor House Museum, as well as Bishop’s Stock Gallery and All Hallows

Episcopal Church in Snow Hill. Violinist Elena Urioste, festival founder and artistic

director, has planned a varied series of performances to appeal to a wide range of

musical tastes. “Our goal, as always, is to have something for everyone at our

events, and to make great music accessible to all with behind-the-scenes

glimpses, and opportunities to chat with the musicians. We’re also excited to

meet local musicians of all ages, and have them join us for our workshop to

prepare them to play with us in our final outdoor performance.”

Urioste will be joined by a roster of musical superstars, including several returning

festival favorites who have helped to make Chamber Music by the Sea such a

success: pianist and composer Tom Poster, violists Kyle Armbrust and Caitlin

Lynch, and cellist Tony Rymer. This year, the festival welcomes Michelle Ross,

whose talents as both violinist and composer will expand the festival family and

introduce us to new repertoire to complement works by Brahms, Dvorak, Grieg,

and other familiar names.

Under the continuing sponsorship of the Worcester County Education

Foundation, generously funded by the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation and

festival ticket sales, Chamber Music by the Sea continues its mission of

introducing Worcester County public school students to the arts with year-round

initiatives that include live, interactive in-school programs and summer music

education.

o 10:30 am: free family concert at the Berlin Public Library

o 12:00 pm: free musicians’ open workshop at the Berlin Public Library

o 7:00 pm: ticketed concert at the Atlantic Hotel, Berlin

 Thursday, August 13, 7:00 pm: ticketed concert and reception at Temple Bat Yam
