Chicago sees six million bicycle trips per month—to school, to work, for family and fitness. So why is it so hard to find a safe & protected route for us and our kids?

Our elected officials need a bigger imagination.

Chicago Bike PAC is a political action committee that supports candidates who share our vision of Chicago as a world-class city to enjoy cycling for transportation, recreation, and fitness, and who commit to use their voice and vote to transform our city.

Children should be safe riding to and from their neighborhood school
Vision Zero: traffic fatalities and severe injuries among all road users should be eliminated by the interplay of design, policy — while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility

TOP PRIORITIES

BikePAC endorses issues and candidates based on positions on cycling infrastructure, comprehensive traffic and safety policy, equitable enforcement, access and availability, and leadership in promoting a shift in culture to cycling for all ages and demographics.

Cycling infrastructure. Protected and accessible routes for bikes throughout the city. Visionary funding, best-in-class design standards, political willpower, and agency cooperation.
Comprehensive traffic and safety policies that enable and encourage safe cycling for all ages.
Equitable enforcement across individuals, business and government agencies so that policy can become reality.
Access and availability. Bikes shouldn’t be for a privileged few. Bike-share availability and infrastructure investment for economically disinvested areas.
Communications and culture. Supporting a cultural mindset change where where cycling can be a normal part of urban life for all ages and demographics.

COALITION & ADVISORY BOARD

Chicago BikePAC seeks to be a team player in existing field of like-minded advocacy organizations. Our advisory board will have representatives from grassroots organizations, business, and community groups, working together to put money where it will have the most impact for our goals in Chicago
