Hi! We are the cast of Chicago: Teen Edition at Vanguard Theater, and we are currently in full swing of rehearsals for an exciting production! Usually, educational productions like this are accompanied by a pre-recorded instrumental track. However, with such a powerful and famous score, we think the best way to capture the heart and energy of this show is with the sound of a live professional band.

Adding a live band is a dream we are working hard to achieve, but it’s a challenge because, at Vanguard, they prioritize making theater accessible. Every year, Vanguard provides more than $75,000 in scholarship funds to ensure students like us - and so many others - can be part of something truly special. This incredible commitment, in turn, means funding things like a live band becomes increasingly difficult without extra support.

To make this dream a reality, we sat down with the team at Vanguard to brainstorm. Together, we came up with a fundraiser called "20 for 20". Here’s how you can help:

Each cast member is asking 20 people in their lives to donate $20 to help us reach our goal. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to creating an unforgettable production with live music.

DREAM VTC is tailored for aspiring musical theater professionals. This by-audition program for ages 15 - 19 is guided by seasoned professionals to cultivate a professional experience. Participants, from casting to applause, embrace the demanding rigor of a professional production, often attracting the attention of talent agencies. The program refines musical theater skills and serves as a launchpad for emerging talents in the field.
