Work. Kids. Long lines. For a lot of parents, that's not a metaphor — it's the actual sequence of obstacles standing between them and a ballot.

Ask for time off. Find someone to watch the kids. Hope the line isn't two hours long with a toddler in tow. For too many parents — especially in communities already facing long lines, fewer polling places, and school closures on Election Day — that last obstacle is the one that ends the run.

We don't think a missing babysitter should ever be the reason someone doesn't vote.

What We Do

Politisit sets up free, quality childcare near polling places — so parents can drop off their kids, cast their ballot, and get back to their day. We coordinate with local childcare providers and reimburse their costs directly, which means we can move fast and go wherever the need is greatest.

This fall, we're focused on the South — where the barriers to voting are steepest and the need for childcare support is greatest.

What Your Gift Does

$2,500 opens one free childcare site near the polls for a full Election Day.

$250 covers a few hours of care at a site
$1,000 covers half a day
$2,500 funds an entire site for the whole day — from the first voter in line to the last

Every dollar goes directly to childcare providers and partners on the ground. No parent should have to choose between watching their kid and having their voice heard.

Why This Matters Now

It's a midterm year, and the lines are already expected to be long. We're working to open more sites across the South than ever before — but we can only go as far as our funding takes us. Help us say yes to more communities before Election Day.
