This year, as we navigate increasing global challenges and deepening polarization, CIEL remains steadfast in its mission to empower young leaders. Our programs equip students with the knowledge and skills to to cross lines of division, to critically engage in problem-solving and lead their communities towards positive change.

As CIEL has had to pivot away from some of our central programming this year, we have turned this challenge into an opportunity to reassess what learnings are most critical and which regions and focus areas will yield the most transformative learning outcomes for our core audiences.

Following that reassessment, we have adopted a refined, two-pronged approach to our programming designed to address the most pressing educational needs as we see them:

Post-Conflict Learning: From Northern Ireland to Vietnam, our programs delve into lessons of reconciliation, recovery, and sustainable peace, offering invaluable perspectives on conflict resolution.
Active Conflict Engagement: Addressing pressing issues like the Middle East and U.S.-Mexico border, we provide opportunities for in-depth, empathetic exploration to foster informed understanding.

This year, we’ve expanded partnerships with universities and non-profits to offer tailored experiences that tackle critical issues such as mental health, migration, and peacebuilding.
