Civic Heart Community Services, formerly known as Change Happens, was founded in 1989 in Houston’s Third Ward with a mission rooted in one belief: people can empower themselves when given the right tools, support, and opportunity.

Over the years, Civic Heart has grown into a cornerstone in the community, delivering programs that address real needs and create lasting impact. Through workforce development, education, prevention education, health and wellness, housing stabilization, and re-entry services, the organization provides a comprehensive approach to helping individuals and families build stable and successful futures.
