CJC is rooted in the neighborhoods we serve. Our work grows from community voices, local partnerships, and the lived experience of youth, families, people who have been harmed, and those walking through transition.

Most families want the same thing, a neighborhood where children can play outside, neighbors look out for one another, and people feel safe. Restorative practices help communities move toward that kind of safety, even when someone has made a harmful choice. Instead of focusing on punishment, restorative approaches bring together the people who were hurt, the person who caused harm, and the wider community to talk about what happened, name the impact, and plan how to make things as right as possible.

When a community is grounded in restorative practices, conflicts and harm are addressed early, support is offered to everyone involved, and clear agreements are made to prevent future harm. Children still see accountability, they also see adults modeling repair, responsibility, and care for the whole neighborhood.
