A friend of mine recently remarked that “5% is everything,” after I explained that there was a 95% chance of recurrence of the stageIIIB rectal cancer I was diagnosed with 12 years ago. Eleven months of treatment left me with a permanent colostomy, neuropathy in my feet and a host of other side effects but I’m here and I’m fighting back for people I love deeply who are in the thick of treatment for colorectal cancer.
