It’s almost December, and, thanks to your generosity, what a busy fall it has been!

We need your ongoing financial support to keep the momentum going.

We have grown our roster to 125 active singers (the largest number since 2018!) and started a number of new initiatives focused on building a community of singers and music lovers in the Charlotte region and providing educational opportunities for all ages—at no cost to participants:

In September, we helped prepare 43 high school singers for their N. C. Honors Chorus auditions.
We hosted the Charlotte Sings! FREE Community Concert, welcoming over 250 singers from eight ensembles to celebrate the rich diversity of the Charlotte choral community, and launched a CLTSings website (cltsings.org) and social media channels to uplift, support, and promote the choral and vocal arts in Charlotte by highlighting upcoming performances.
In October, we invited 60 youth singers from three regional choirs to join us for our performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah in front of our largest audience to date.
In November, our sponsorship of the CMS High School Honors Chorus allowed 102 students to participate free of charge.

And there’s more to come this spring:

Our Young Artists in Residence program will return, offering high school singers the opportunity to rehearse with us and participate in group voice classes with noted professionals.
In February, we will sponsor the CMS Middle School Honors Chorus, ensuring that students do not have to pay a fee to participate in this important vocal enrichment opportunity.
In March, we will host our Celebration of Joy High School Choral Festival, where we expect to welcome over 80 high school singers to participate in two Saturday workshops as they rehearse André Thomas’s Gospel Mass for a performance with us on Saturday, March 8th.
And throughout the spring, we will host a series of four free “Take a Breath” community workshops focused on the health and wellness benefits of music.

None of these initiatives can happen without your generosity. In order to support these programs, our Board has increased their annual Matching Challenge to a record $18,000, meaning all donations up to that amount received by December 31st will be doubled in impact.
