On August 9, 2021, Coleman Preparatory Academy opened its doors for the very first time—in the basement of the former Kingdom Fellowship building on E. Broadway. What began as a vision in a basement has grown into a thriving school where students are known, loved, challenged, and prepared.

In 2026, we are joyfully celebrating five years of educational excellence, and we’re marking this milestone by launching something new: Coleman Prep Day, our inaugural annual day of giving!

While we will continue to host Spirit Nights and popcorn and donut fundraisers that bring our community together, Coleman Prep Day will be our most focused, mission-driven fundraising effort each year. Our goal for this first Coleman Prep Day is to raise at least $25,000 to strengthen our academic programs, support our teachers and staff, and provide enriching opportunities for our students.

We are inviting you to partner with us in a special way.

Would you consider making a gift of $25 or more in honor of our five-year anniversary and the students we serve every day? Your generosity will help us continue the work that began in that E. Broadway basement and now reaches into classrooms filled with eager learners.

This year, we are also building a group of “Coleman Champions”—supporters who not only give, but also challenge their friends to join them. As a Coleman Champion, you would:

- Make a personal gift of at least $25

- Invite at least five friends to match or exceed your donation on Coleman Prep Day

We’d also love to celebrate with you in person. On August 9th at 6:00 PM, we will host a Coleman Prep Day Pizza Party on site, featuring pizzas from restaurants all across Louisville. During this celebration, the Mayor’s Office will present an official proclamation recognizing Coleman Prep Day—a meaningful honor for our school and community.
