Our upcoming webseries, College is Not Real, tells the story of a group of college students who come together to form their own social club after being rejected from countless others.

Meet the Directors/Writers:

The duo’s upcoming project, College Is Not Real, is inspired by their hilarious experiences navigating unseriously-serious college organizations and the absurd characters they create. Told through humor and an ensemble of unlikely friends, the webseries explores themes of exclusivity, rejection, and the universal desire for community.

Traci Dargan is an aspiring television writer from Houston, Texas who is currently based in Los Angeles and pursuing an MFA in Television Screenwriting at UCLA. Her work centers on ambitious Black women who mistake control for leadership, and must learn the power that comes from embracing the community around them.

G Wild is a writer/director from Little Rock, Arkansas who is currently based in Austin, Texas. A first generation Chinese-American G brings characters to the screen who are often historically under/misrepresented in the media. His work aims to entertain audiences while exploring satirical situations that turn the mirror on real life absurdities.

Syllabus Overview

Everyones knows that if you don’t make friends the first week of freshman year, you can always make friends later you’re F*CKED! But don’t worry! There are plenty of “social orgs” who welcome you to join (after passing a series of applications, interviews, and sometimes exams!) — even the cooking club wants to make sure you know how to cook spaghetti al dente. It’s great once you’re in! You instantly have new friends, you’ll be invited to all the cool parties socials on the weekend, and your LinkedIn connections will be off the chain!!! But if you don’t get in... you’ll find yourself bored in a campus library while everyone else is out partying on the first weekend of college. Except you’re not alone. A few other rejects are here, too. This is the reality for a group of freshman from different walks of life, who get the bright idea to form their own social org that takes everyone!But let’s be honest. Exclusivity is what makes these clubs cool, and without a clear mission, this might as well be an assigned group project set up to fail. Through trials and errors (and mostly errors), the group will have to come up with a way to attract new members before they end up owing the school a lot of money for a registered club that at the moment is just an awkwardly small gathering of unlikely friends.
