Story
With the generous support from our readers, The Columbian has five donation-funded reporters on its reporting staff to add to the strong reporter and editing staff of about 30 in total.
With your help and the help of a $5,000 match from the Vancouver Audubon Society, we want to raise $10,000 to add to the longevity of our Community Funded Journalism program.
You may make your gift securely online or by sending a check made out to our nonprofit partner, Local Media Foundation. Checks should include The Columbian or Columbian Community Funded Journalism on the memo line. Checks can be mailed to:

We are a fourth-generation, family-owned media company that is the leading source for Clark County news. We are committed to providing truthful, non-biased news to our community: an essential service for a healthy democracy.
The Columbian’s new project, Community Funded Journalism, opens the door for community members to support local journalism: stories that uncover the truth about homelessness, housing, transportation and the environment. These stories uncover what’s working and not, and they bring our community together by sharing experiences of those we interview. The project will fund additional reporters at The Columbian, allowing the entire reporting staff to specialize more in their own categories of coverage and dig deeper under the surface of their stories.
Through our fiscal sponsor Local Media Foundation, the Community Funded Journalism Project can accept tax-deductible donations. The Columbian editors will maintain editorial independence over all stories. No donors will know what specific stories the reporters are pursuing, nor will they see stories before they’re published.
