Embrace Monroe wants to help feed Monroe County. Can you help us make it happen?

Embrace Monroe wants a community garden and the people of Monroe need one. Our short term goal is to get a garden up and running in Spring of 2026 for harvest that summer/fall. Can we do it? That depends on you. Putting a project together of this size and scoop isn't easy but nothing worthwhile ever is easy, right? While we do have land that we can lease or cultivate it still takes capital to get started. The garden needs insurance, rented or purchased equipment, etc. With funding from the community we can make it happen, which is why this page was created.

Why Donate?

Why do a community garden? Sure it's fun but there are also practical implications that help Monroe County, especially those who are lacking access to healthy food choices because of travel or financial limitations. Point is, community gardens are good for your body but also your soul. Some of the possibilities and benefits for having our own community garden include:

Remember too that Embrace Monroe is an all volunteer organization. Everything you donate comes back to the small non-profit group rather than a fat cat CEO. No one is paid for their time. Embrace Monroe was a project born out of love and necessity so please consider donating to this fund so we can keep being social and connected. It's important to our well being as humans.
