For over a decade, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) has been standing on the front lines fighting for justice, accountability, and equity in our community. But movements cannot survive on passion alone, they need resources, support, and people willing to invest in the work.

But today, we need to be honest: funding is critically low, and the needs in our community continue to grow. Because of limited resources, we have had to make difficult decisions. Some of the direct assistance programs we previously offered — including our bailout support, hotel vouchers, transitional housing assistance, and emergency financial support — must be paused until we have the resources needed to sustain them.

This is not the end of the work. It is a moment of transformation.

To continue serving our community more effectively, AADM is launching the Community Defense Mobile Clinic—a mobile, community-based approach that brings advocacy, resources, education, support, and pathways to justice directly to the people.

The Community Defense Hub is built around a simple belief: people should not have to navigate complicated systems alone.

When someone experiences a problem involving police, faces concerns related to jail conditions or treatment, or believes they have experienced discrimination, they may not know where to turn or what steps to take. The Community Defense Hub is designed to help close that gap by building a trained network of community volunteers who can provide information, support, referrals, and advocacy.

Storytelling campaigns and organizing around issues impacting our community. Provide resource to help individuals and families navigate barriers, fight injustice, and access support when they need it most.

Sustain Operations
Help cover the behind-the-scenes costs that keep a grassroots organization functioning — technology, outreach, staff support, programming, and community engagement.

Maintain Our 1-800 Community Support Line
Keep a trusted resource available for people seeking information, reporting concerns, and connecting with support.
