Picture Above is our 2026 National Tournament Qualifiers (Lizzy Evans, Aliah Munoz, Paola Garcia, Kessa Krecsmar, and Jonathan Franco Guzman). Kessa finished her Concord debate career by earning 7th place speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Seventy years ago, in April of 1956, Concord High School earned its Charter Chapter Status from the National Forensic League (NFL), now know as the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). That was also the year that the Indiana High School Forensic Association (IHSFA) officially formed with Concord coach Orvin Kilmer as one of the initial Indiana state leaders.

Since that time, Concord speech and debate has continued to allow team members the opportunity to build confidence in their public speaking and debating skills, while earning both state and national recognition with many team members qualifying for both state and national tournaments. Throughout this campaign we will do our best to recognize and acknowledge team alumni who have used the skills learned in speech and debate to become successful leaders. We also invite alumni to post on our team facebook thread and let us know what you are currently doing.

We also invite all friends and alumni of the program to support the team in its efforts to continue providing opportunities for current students to compete and continue the strong Concord speech and debate tradition.
