ConteXture Dance Detroit is passionate about not only dance, but the community it serves. ConneXtions encompasses all of the ways we engage and enhance our community, such as our Senior Night Out, ConteXture Pre-Professional Summer Program, intensives, workshops, and more. Your support of these projects directly enhances our local artists and community.

This season, we are increasing our efforts to provide more artistic opportunities in our community, and in turn, we also require funds to ensure these programs are successful. Below is a specific breakdown of all of our community projects planned for this season.

Senior Night Out - ConteXture brings 75-100 senior citizens from local homes in Detroit to our annual concert. Donations help cover the costs for ticket admission, bus transportation, and concessions. To be a Senior Night Out Donor for 2025 please donate $250.00 to the ConneXtions Campaign and in the message box of your donation include "Senior Night Out Donation."
Residencies - A new addition this season, ConteXture will be spending time with local schools, including Churchill High School's CAPA program and Harrison Dance Company at Farmington High School and North Farmington High School to create new works for their dance programs. Donations assist in covering the costs of travel, rehearsal time, costumes, and more.
Workshops and Intensives - ConteXture hosts our Spring Workshop, Winter Workshop, and Summer Intensives annually, providing company members with teaching opportunities, as well as connecting local dancers with opportunities to train. We want to provide accessible opportunities for all, and your support of these initiatives allows us to give scholarships, compensate our teachers, rent studio space, and more.
ConteXture Pre-Professional Summer Program (CPSP) - Dancers ages 13-18 are welcomed in the studio space to learn and dance alongside professional dance artists in Detroit. This is an effort to provide a professional experience for local students that are interested in pursuing a career in dance. Donations assist in covering costs for rehearsal space, costuming, teacher compensation, and more.
