Enjoy Christmas themed food and entertainment all in the spirit of giving. Mrs. Jenkins loves Christmas and her home was filled with her love of the season. Mrs. Jenkins lives at Saint Simeon's Senior Community now and we're honored her family is allowing us to share her collection with you. We are sharing with attendees a chance to take home some delightful Christmas spirit items and more items! This will be an evening of fellowship and joy.

Church of the Restoration was founded in 1987 for simple reasons: to achieve racial justice and to promote religious freedom; we have always been a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, free-thinking bunch of folk who love boundlessly. To ALL who enter our doors, we are glad you are here.

Inside on the walls is the artwork of the Black Artist Collective as well as known Tulsa artists, the late Artie Smoot, COTRUU artist, Janell Hartwell, Sally Hensel and many more. We are home to the Tulsa Muslim Community, Mennonite Fellowship of Friends, Tulsa Peace Fellowship, Humanist Association of Tulsa, African-Ancestral Society, the Greenwood Community Garden, as well as the Greenwood Neighborhood Association and the North Tulsa Historical Society.

History of the building we are preserving:

This building was completed in 1946. The Variety Club Health Clinic, "The local Variety Club in Tulsa had a rapport with the public health service through the theater groups and especially a Mr. Ralph Talbot, chief barker of the Variety Clubs and a theater owner, saw what the local public health center was doing in Tulsa with such poor, inadequate facilities. Twenty-seven groups were vying for a health center throughout the United States, and Tulsa was chosen. There were four physicians working in this facility on Archer Street. Drs. R.M. Shepard, Sr., in chest diseases and a Tuberculosis Specialist; R.C. Bryant in obstetrics; W.N. Coots in chest diseases; and Charles Bate in pediatrics. The local Variety Club members and the Tulsa Public Health officials said they were impressed with the free work done by these physicians week after week while carrying a large load of patients. This was in the late 1930s, and drugs, free general medical clinics, and birth control pills. Infant mortality was unbelievably high."
