A Camino allows you to slow down, connect with God, and rediscover what matters. People make the journey for spiritual reflection, healing, clarity, rest, or adventure. It’s about making space, letting go, and receiving grace.

Please join us on a Central Park Camino as we raise money for Wonder Aloud.

Wonder Aloud is a small non-profit ministry that walks alongside individuals and churches through Christ-centered contemplative care such as silent retreats, urban caminos and spiritual direction. We offer care to people from all walks of life, regardless of denomination. Many in our care identify as AAPI or BIPOC. We need your help to provide our Offerings at affordable rates.

This walk is free but please consider giving. Feel free to bring friends so they may also experience a Camino. Even if you cannot attend, giving any amount would help us towards our Fundraising Goal.

What is a camino?

A camino is a way of walking purposefully, yet reflectively in solitude or in companionship with others noticing and engaging God in conversation throughout

When should I arrive?

Please arrive at the meeting point 5 minutes before starting time.

What will the day be like?

You will be greeted at our meeting point, where we will give you an overview of the path, including some reflection questions for your walk. You are welcome to walk the camino however you feel led: alone, with others, or varying combinations of the two. Although we will have group check in's midway and at the end, the time allotted allows for you to go at an unhurried and spacious pace. We will close our camino together with gratitude, sharing a few words with one another to carry with us as we return to our different journeys.

Do I have to participate the entire distance?

You can participate for as long or short of the distance as you like. We highly recommend you stay and finish the Camino to get the best experience. However, we understand things happen and simply ask that you let the facilitator know in advance if you plan to leave earlier or if along the way, you need to discontinue via text.

Can I arrive later than start time?

We understand that there are unforeseen delays. If that happens, please text one of the facilitators in advance so that we know and we can drop a location pin for you. You may arrive later and meet us along the path of the Camino, but please understand if we do not respond to your text right away as we are facilitating the walk, we will try our best.

What should I bring with me?

Travel light: if you bring a bag - just carry essentials such as your phone/camera, a water bottle, some snacks, small notebook and pen. Be careful not to pack too much as this may put a strain on your back.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably. We suggest wearing closed toe shoes; the Bridle Path is generally flat but is not paved the same way other paths in Central Park. A hat, sun glasses and sunscreen is highly recommended.
