When we started the Create Reuse Center three years ago as a small team of volunteers, we could never have imagined where we are today: a store and a studio that are both overflowing; a team of 6 part-time staff; and just last year, over 90 volunteers, 2,400 retail customers, and more than 43,000 pounds of material diverted from the landfill!

We built this on the belief that where some see trash, we see creative potential. Our community has proven it over and over again.

The problem? We’ve run out of room! We're turning away manufacturers who want to donate. We're capping field trips and limiting workshops because we simply can't fit everyone. The community is ready to give us more - and right now, we can't say yes.

Here's what changes that: We have the opportunity to move into a 5,000 square-foot space at 50 Sims Avenue in Providence's Valley neighborhood - more than double our current footprint! Room to accept more donations, welcome more classes, and serve every family that walks through our doors.

In total, the move will cost $35,000. This will cover:

Build-out of 2 Handicap Accessible Entrances
Handicap Accessible Bathroom
Security Deposit
Additional Shelving and Furniture
Moving Truck and Labor
Loss in sales while closed

We’ve already secured $20K and we are asking you as part of our community to help us raise the remaining $15K by May 1st.
