The kids growing up at New Life Village in Tampa have already been through more than most people experience in a lifetime - removed from homes, separated from family, healing from trauma and neglect.

There are over 100 youth currently living at New Life Village. There are more than 2,000 children in foster care in Hillsborough County alone. Up to 80% of children in foster care carry significant mental health challenges, and without consistent male mentorship and community presence, the odds stack against them fast.

These kids don't need pity. They need people to show up.

That's what Play It Forward is built for.

CTC does a monthly sports mentorship program at New Life Village — bringing athletes, creators, and young adults into the Village to pour into these kids through sports, movement, and real relationship. Not a one-time visit. A consistent presence. A pipeline from culture to community that keeps showing up.

Each child who finds stability and permanency saves the foster care system approximately $439,000 in lifetime costs. The return on investing in these kids is enormous. All they need is for someone to care enough to be there.
