Celebrate National Farmers Market Week by Supporting Connecticut’s Markets

The crisp morning air of a farmer market. The colorful bouquet of neatly-stacked produce. Lively conversations between market-goers. The smile of a local farmer sharing the fruits of their labor. These moments are what makes Connecticut’s farmers markets the fabric of our communities.

This National Farmers Market Week, we’re celebrating the people who make those moments possible and asking you to help ensure they continue for generations to come.

Connecticut is fortunate to boast dozens of thriving farmers markets across the state, providing small farms and businesses with the opportunity to sell nutritious, high-quality food to their neighbors. These markets have planted a seed in our communities: they have emerged as a place where we can connect, discover, and shop.

The Connecticut Farmers Market Association (CTFMA) was created because market leaders across our state recognized the need for collaboration. By connecting market managers, sharing resources, and advocating for policies that strengthen local agriculture, we’re building a stronger platform for every farmers’ market in Connecticut. When you support CTFMA, you’re investing in a statewide network that helps markets succeed, farmers prosper, and access to fresh, locally-grown food.
