A choral experience about hustle, humanity, and the need to disconnect. A concert for when you’re always on, or just feel that way.

In a world of constant alerts, infinite scroll, and AI, Continuum Vocal Ensemble invites you to step off the treadmill of productivity and into a space of sonic stillness, urgency, irony, and awe.

Through Ctrl + Alt + Reflect we'll explore the modern human relationship to hustle culture, artificial intelligence, and the data-driven world we live in. The evening will feature haunting, satirical, and transcendent music—including the Mumford & Son's driving anthem Babel, the cosmic reckoning of Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot set to music, Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and a special audience participation piece.

This will be an experience inviting you to be, to breathe, to sing, and to reclaim your attention. Because before we chase what’s next, we need to ask: What have we lost in the rush, and what happens when we have the courage to slow down?

About the Event

The Ensemble: Led by Dr. John McDonald -- Director of Choir and Vocal Studies at Washington University -- Continuum Vocal Ensemble's mission is to build community by bringing the experience of transformative choral music to new audiences through innovative pieces performed in unique settings across St. Louis.

The Experience: Our focus will be the music, but like all of our events, the night is also about the space where we gather, and the people we'll meet. The evening will offer opportunities for meaningful social connection before and during the music, as well as a cash bar.

The Location: Leaning into our mission to invite you into unique spaces, and to bring our theme to life, we'll be gathering this time in the Loop in University City at TechArtista, a modern co-working and creative collaboration space inside a historic campus that was formerly part of the U City Public School system.

⏰ Time: Doors will open at 5:30 for social connection and access to the bar. The music will start around 6 pm.

Turn off Delmar onto Kingsland Avenue. Turn into the north side of the TechArtista building (look for the Lewis Collaborative sign). Parking will be to your right, the entrance to your left (look for the Continuum Vocal Ensemble banner to guide you to the entrance).
