Help support the Staten Island Zoo this year!

The Staten Island Zoo is raising funds to help purchase a new ultrasound machine for the animals that call Staten Island Zoo home. We are so fortunate to have an animal hospital here on Zoo grounds, so the animals can get immediate care whenever they need it. A new ultrasound machine would help the Zoo continue our mission of providing the upmost care and promote the highest standard of welfare for our animals!

Your donation will go a long way to support our animal hospital staff in upgrading the technology of the facility!

"An ultrasound machine is an extremely valuable resource for all our patients here at the zoo. For many, an ultrasound conjures images of expectant parents looking into the health of their unborn babies. However, it can also be a tool to diagnose heart disease, tumors, or other abnormalities of internal organs. Did you know that you can even ultrasound the eyes? Unfortunately, our ultrasound machine at the zoo is reaching the end of its service. While it has helped us diagnose a multitude of illnesses and assess countless pregnancies over the years, it is now time to replace our machine with the latest technology. With your support, we can reach our goal of continuing to provide excellent care for the animals here at the Staten Island Zoo."

The Zoo uses an ultrasound machine to track progress of pregnancies in animals such as Liski, our Amur leopard. Liski gave birth to a health boy, Ussuri in 2019. Births like Ussuri contribute to the Species Survival Plan, which manages the populations of threatened species.

As a Thank You for donating, the first 25 donors to donate $25.00 dollars or more will receive a painting from one of our beloved animals!

Our ring-tailed lemurs are also important contributors to SSP.

Anyone who donates $100.00 or more will be entered to win a private encounter for 4 people with the Staten Island Zoo's Hoffman’s two-toed sloth, Dunkin! With each additional $100 you donate you will have an additional entry into the raffle! (i.e. a $300 donation would equal 3 entries into the raffle).

The private encounter will last 20 minutes and you will have a chance to meet Dunkin, take pictures, and learn all about sloths from his zookeeper!
