Capital Contemporary Ballet and ATX Artists for Social Impact are partnering with Central Texas Youth Ballet to provide free year-round dance training to the children of Foster Village, with uniforms being generously donated by Wear Moi Dancewear. We currently have six children enrolled in Dance for All!

Background

Ballet has a rich history spanning over 500 years, but its roots in elite aristocratic institutions have often made it inaccessible to most communities. Today, many aspiring ballet dancers still face barriers to participating in ballet—whether due to the high cost of training, limited representation, or a lack of inclusive spaces. These challenges disproportionately affect those from lower-income backgrounds, as well as queer and BIPOC artists, whose voices and perspectives are essential to the future of the art form.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Taught by professional ballet dancers and instructors with strong roots in ballet pedagogy, Dance for All honors the tradition and rigor of classical technique while integrating anatomy-informed, injury-preventative practices that ensure strong and sustainable movement habits for dancers of all levels.
