As we reflect on the passing year, Dancing Earth is grateful for the enriching experiences, growth, and connections we've cultivated together. Our journey has taken us through various communities and artistic expressions, and we're excited to share our highlights with you. Extending the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the cherished memories and heartfelt work we've accomplished together.

The International Creative & Cultural Exchange Program initiative goes beyond geographical confines, focusing on relationship cultivation, providing international opportunities for the creative community of Dancing Earth and our International Creative Cultural Ambassadors through an ecological lens. Our ongoing vibrant cultural exchange hubs are currently spanning invitations from groups in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Canada, New Zealand and beyond. We will be welcoming representatives from those groups to our 20th Anniversary projects in California and New Mexico!

By offering your support, you directly contribute to the well-being of Dancing Earth company artists, associate artists, and culture carriers, impacting individuals not only in California and New Mexico but also resonating across borders with invitations from diverse groups in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Canada, New Zealand, and beyond.

Your donation will:

Empower DE Artists Globally: Enable our artists to collaborate with international counterparts and share their unique perspectives.
Bridge Cultures: Facilitate intercultural exchange, breaking down barriers and fostering understanding through the universal language of movement.
Support Remote Communities: Strengthen our commitment to creating safe and courageous creative spaces for communities who have invited our unique language of movement for Movement building, from tree activists in Mexico, to groups along the riverbanks in the vast Amazon.

Key Elements:

Relationship Cultivation: Focused on acknowledging and transcending borders, our project aims to cultivate meaningful relationships, recognizing the impact of Spanish colonization on shared histories.
International Opportunities: Providing an ecology of international opportunities, we aim to nourish California artists, allowing them to share their work globally and return to our communities to enrich us with their experiences.
Host Homes: When we go to other countries, no matter how humble the conditions we are offered the best: homes are open, we are fed with the same soup as the family, we are celebrated and greeted and carried with care. We invite our circles, especially in New Mexico and the Bay Area, to open their homes and join us in care. In the past, lifelong friendships have sprung up between guest artists and host families. If a bed isn't an option, others have offered airport rides, or meals, or translation support. This is a great opportunity for all those with interest in world cultures; Spanish language familiarity is an extra asset to support many of our prospective invitees!
Diversity and Inclusion: Our ongoing International Creative and Culture Exchange program embraces a profound embodied experience of diversity, inclusion and of equity. We actively challenge existing power dynamics between cultures and countries, and empower artists to be Creative and Cultural Ambassadors, and to explore the ecological themes and issues that impact us all, from the perspective of intercultural exchange as a living dynamic.
