Santa Ana’s own Police Chief Robert Rodriguez will be stepping onto the Dancing with the Santa Ana Stars floor with that same bravery and heart he brings to public service. Born in Tijuana and raised in Santa Ana, he came to the U.S. as a child, served honorably in the Marines before earning his stripes with LAPD and later SAPD—and climbed every rank along the way before being sworn in as the 22nd Chief of Police. Known for his servant-leader style, Chief Rodriguez emphasizes unity and inclusivity—from sharing the podium with his exec team at his oath ceremony to making public safety feel personal . On the dance floor, expect disciplined moves with a warm smile—he’s the same leader who’s guided a city of over 300,000 with strength, empathy, and relentless community pride.
Every dollar Robert raises beyond the $2,000 event threshold gets divided equally—half supporting the Greater Santa Ana Vitality Foundation and half going to the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, whose mission is to provide a positive influence in every aspect of their member’s professional lives, while fostering strong partnerships with the community through their Community Oriented Policing philosophy.
