For over fifty years, the Danville Historical Society has safeguarded some of our city’s most unique and incredible stories. Now, we are seeking your help once again so we can protect your history for another fifty years.

Our historic building’s roof must be replaced — a project estimated at $60,000. Coincidentally, that’s about the same as Danville’s population. If every resident contributes just $1, together we can preserve the treasures of Danville for generations to come.

The Historical Society serves as the steward of thousands of irreplaceable paper records, photographs, film, and archival materials that document our community's rich history. These items are highly vulnerable to damage from heat, humidity, light exposure, and the natural effects of aging. Through professional cataloging, digitization, and preservation efforts, we can protect these fragile collections while making them accessible to researchers, students, and the public for generations to come.
