This fund will be set up to support students in the specific field of education. To help grow the percentage of black and brown male educators in the educations system. Why? Because America’s public-school teachers are far less racially and ethnically diverse than their students. And studies have shown that when students are taught by at least one teacher of their ethnicity they have a higher chance of staying in school and graduating.

Charles Davis is passionate about closing the gap in the percentage of African American male teachers. He strives to shape the national conversation for educating youth who have been historically underserved to find their turning point and realize their potential. To make such a change in the students, you must also apprise the next generation of school leaders and teachers seeking practical and intellectual pathways to meet some of the most pressing challenges encountered in urban and impoverished schools.
