♪ Frederick Delius’ In a Summer Garden paints a musical picture of nature in full bloom, capturing the warmth and peacefulness of a summer afternoon.

♪ Claude Debussy’s Première Rhapsodie, featuring clarinet soloist Diego Borges, puts the clarinet in the spotlight with music that moves easily between quiet, lyrical moments and passages of energy and brilliance.

♪ Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 brings the program to a close with one of his most approachable and engaging symphonies. At times playful, peaceful, and dramatic, the work concludes with soprano Rachel Walters Steiner singing a child’s simple and joyful vision of heaven.
