The Event:

November 16th 2026 9:30am-3:00pm

1819 Innovation Hub, 2900 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45206

UC students, faculty, and dedicated community partners will come together for a large-scale "build day" dedicated to modifying brand-new toys. This effort involves adapting standard electronic toys to make them accessible

The Goal: Adapt 200 toys in a single day.
The Process: Each toy will be rewired so it can be activated with a simple push of a button. This "switch adaptation" allows children with limited fine motor skills or restricted use of their hands to engage in play independently, something often impossible with off-the-shelf toys.
The Impact: These 200 toys will be distributed to children with disabilities across the Cincinnati area during the holiday season, turning complex play into simple, joyous interactions.

Ways to Participate:

Sponsor the Event: Your support provides the essential resources needed for this massive undertaking: purchasing the 200 electronic toys, securing the specialized wiring and switch components, and covering the logistics for this large volunteer event.
Purchase Toys : purchase toys from the Amazon Wish List to be adapted during the event.
Volunteer: learn how to adapt toys ahead of the event and then provide hands on support to students during the event.
