We have to rethink how we overcome deadlocked politics and increasing problems in the world! Can we bring people together to understand and dream a better future around an issue? The team at Community Driven thinks so and are putting together this example of how that could look!

Our September Design Jam is a rethinking of a design competition or hackathon - a place where people and groups can present their perspectives and ideas for what should be done! We will have contest prizes and different categories to win for those who participate!

For this Design Jam we are talking about something we all need, water. The Western states are in a drought with lingering need to decide how to care for the Colorado River. It is our goal to make our most popular new video series bringing attention to this topic.

Not everyone will have time to jump into a deep dive on a topic and think through improvements! We have to build up different ways and levels for people to get involved! Donations and event "tickets" are a way people can support our production and increase the prize pool. We also will create online content for people to interact with and share! We also encourage others to create content and share the event using #designjam

I am surprised time and time again with the ideas that can come from people working together. With the discussion and conversation brought up by this event we hope to bring forward solutions, conversation, and inspiration towards a better present and future!

Internally our goals around this event are to create media and interest around positive solution making and what is happening with the Colorado River! As we looked at what was possible to do as an event we decided to put forward a fundraiser goal to help us reach more people and improve the event! We would like to announce that all money raised is to be split 50/50 into our prize pool and resources for our team to use! We can grow the event, our media reach, and showcase this new way to move forward policy!

To go after those goals we would like to invite you into the process! We have a number of places to view our content, ticket levels that support the event, and ways to share that help us reach more people this month! We look forward to making content along the way and lifting up the best ideas for improving the water systems in the Western US.
