We’re making an album — From The Kitchen Table

I am overjoyed that my band, Devi & The Swell, is ready to record our first album together entitled From The Kitchen Table.

Since my first album Full Belly 20 years ago, my kitchen table has become the sacred space where my songs get bounced off the walls and come to life. They are my heart’s way of metabolizing emotions that swell in my body and call to be shared with beauty and reverence. They are an invitation into the precious heartache of living each moment fully.

My kitchen table is the anchor, where I return again and again. I write to you from this very place, inviting you to be part of our creative journey.

THE ALBUM

From The Kitchen Table was forged in the crucible of the COVID-19 pandemic — born from my own heartbreak and unraveling, mothering, the intimate work of a midwife, the grief of losing loved ones before their time, and the resilience we find in life’s darkest moments.

Those years clarified that my music needed to move from the margins to the center of life, and be shared as an offering.

This album is that offering.
