Every year, DewMore Baltimore works with youth in the city to help them grow as creatives, advocates and leaders through our 4 initiatives: Baltimore City Youth Poetry Team, Poetry Slam League, Baltimore City Youth Poet Laureate & Maya Baraka Writers Institute. We are consistently giving young people in Baltimore City a place to express themselves. Over the past year our young people have performed many places locally, such as City Hall, Artscape, Inner Harbor as well as several states in the country including Wisconsin, at the Brave New Voices competition where they placed 4th in the nation!

We have an exciting summer planned, and we need your support to get our young people the resources they need to succeed! Our Baltimore City Youth Poetry Team will be competing in the Brave New Voices competition in California and our summer program, the Maya Baraka Writers Institute, will be kicking off soon. We're currently fundraising $10,000 to help cover airfare, lodging, transportation, conference expenses, workshop materials, and programming costs that make these initiatives possible.

We ask these young people to show up and pour into their communities with their art, and now we're asking for the community to pour into them with your support.
