An inner-city rugby team representing College Achieve High School in Paterson, NJ, driven by a shared passion for the sport, is dreaming of taking their talents beyond the local fields. They envision traveling the world, competing against other teams, and experiencing rugby culture in different countries.

For all of our players (many who had not even heard of rugby prior to joining the team), this journey would not just be about the sport but also about connecting with fellow students who share the same love for the game. These young student-athletes are excited to step onto new pitches, where their skills will be tested against diverse playing styles, all while building friendships and learning from their global peers. It’s an opportunity to forge bonds that transcend borders, all while representing the Paterson community with pride.

In addition to the thrill of international competition, the team also seeks to learn more about life outside their urban setting. They want to meet other students, engage in cross-cultural exchanges, and bring home valuable experiences to share with their school and families.

These journeys offer more than just a chance to improve their rugby game; it’s an educational and personal growth experience. Through this global adventure, they hope to not only play their best rugby but also gain a deeper understanding of the world and its diverse cultures, all while representing their roots and making lasting memories with friends they haven’t met yet.

We have set goals to travel internationally in 2026 & to the Rugby World Cup in 2027!
