Story
Kurt Caselli was an American motorcycle racer born on June 30, 1983, in Palmdale, California. He was passionate about his sport and dedicated to being the best he could be, on and off the bike. He trained hard, pushed himself to his limits, and never gave up on his dreams. Kurt's talent and determination paid off, and he became one of the top off-road motorcycle racers in the world.
Kurt Caselli was the most dominant off-road rider of his era. Kurt was a three-time WORCS Champion, three-time National Hare and Hound Champion, 2006 ISDE Junior Team Champion, 2007 ISDE E3 Class Champion, 2007 AMA Sportsman Of The Year, 2011 ISDE E2 Class Champion, 2012 San Felipe 250 Winner, 2013 Desafio Ruta 40 Argentina Rally Champion, two-time stage Winner 2013 Dakar Rally. In 2019, the AMA inducted him into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
Kurt went to take on his next challenge, to win a SCORE championship. He tragically lost his life in a racing accident while leading the 2013 Baja 1000 in Mexico. Kurt's family, friends, and fans were devastated by the loss of such a talented and beloved rider.
In the wake of Kurt's death, his family and friends were determined to do something to honor his memory and help make the off-road racing community safer for all riders. They founded The Kurt Caselli Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and supporting the lives of off-road riders.
Knowing the inherent elements of danger in our sport, the Foundation aims to help minimize this danger to the best of its ability. The Foundation works to provide safety and course marking supplies, first responder training, and educational scholarships to the off-road motorcycle community. In 2023, the Foundation is supporting over 30 racing organizations across the United States, helping to make off-road racing safer for everyone who loves the sport.
Each year, the Foundation hosts its annual Doffo Winery event in memory of Kurt Caselli. The event brings together riders, fans, and supporters from all over to celebrate Kurt's life and raise money for the Foundation's work. All proceeds from the event go directly to the Foundation, which uses the funds to continue its mission of protecting and supporting the lives of off-road riders.
Together, let’s honor Kurt's memory and continue his legacy by working to make off-road racing safer and more enjoyable for all riders.
