Every animal here has a life that matters.

Some came to us because they needed a safe place to land. Others are ambassador animals who help children and adults experience a connection with animals they might otherwise never have the opportunity to meet. However they arrived, once they are here, we make them a promise: they will be cared for for the rest of their lives.

That promise doesn't take a day off.

Every morning, animals are waiting to be fed. Water tubs need to be cleaned and filled. Pens need to be maintained. Bedding, feed and supplies disappear faster than you would imagine. Fences break. Equipment wears out. Veterinary needs don't wait until there's money in the budget.

And tomorrow, we do it all again.

A Chance for Life Farm Animal Sanctuary and Peggy's Peacock Palace are home to animals ranging from pigs, sheep and rabbits to peafowl, tortoises, emus, ostriches, a kangaroo and many others. Each one has different needs, different personalities, and a life worth caring for.

We also open this little corner of Arizona to people.

Children meet animals they've only seen in books. Families make memories together. Visitors learn that the pig leaning against the fence for attention, the curious kangaroo approaching to investigate them, and the peacock displaying his magnificent feathers aren't simply exhibits. They're individuals.

That's where compassion begins.

But none of this happens without the everyday work of caring for the animals first.
