A recent study found that 66% of renters believe that homeownership is unattainable. With your generosity, we can prove them wrong! To prevent aspiring homeowners from becoming life-long renters, we have to encourage them to take the first step on their home buying journey, and start that journey as soon as possible.

Homeowner Prep has been working directly with local aspiring homeowners through one-on-one financial coaching and our goal is to reach a broader market of aspiring homeowners across the US. Your donation will help us work with more families one-on-one, provide local in-person events, and host online programs that help aspiring homeowners stop paying rent and get the keys to their first home! As these homeowners leverage their first home, they have a real opportunity to create lasting generational wealth for their families and have a productive impact on their community.

We strive to help clients from all financial and ethnic backgrounds, but our core desire is to close the homeownership and wealth gap in America. BIPOC homeownership is the foundation of that mission and your support will help us reach a target market of more than 3 million renters, who are "mortgage-ready".

According to research, while the U.S. homeownership rate in America increased to 65.5% in 2021, the rate among Black Americans lags significantly (44%), has only increased 0.4% in the last 10 years and is nearly 29 percentage points less than White Americans (72.7%), representing the largest Black-White homeownership rate gap in a decade. In 1960, before the Fair Housing Act, there was a 27-point gap between black homeownership (38%) and white homeownership (65%). These numbers are trending in the wrong direction. And it's not much better for other racial backgrounds, with Hispanic households at 50.9% and Native American households at 52.6%. Something drastic has to be done in order to change these alarming statistics, and with your support we can.
