We believe that all American children deserve a world-class education that prepares students to compete and create in a growingly digital world. Puerto Rico unfortunately, has been left far behind its fellow US contemporaries. According to a report published by the Heritage Foundation, ninety-one percent of Puerto Rico’s eighth-grade students score well below the basic level in math, reading, and science among other subjects, in a national comparison within the United States. Overall, Puerto Rican students rank at the bottom in international comparisons below Mexico and Thailand (http://report.heritage.org/ib5001). Tech My School is dedicated to addressing the many issues facing the poor educational performance of the island. We partner with local schools and provide them with world-class training, resources, and student empowerment for FREE. There is so much to grapple with, such as a lack of 21st-century tools, a huge literacy gap, negligible resources, teacher attrition due to low pay, and a number of other issues within the Puerto Rican education system.
