Celebrate My Birthday by Supporting Psychologists of Color, Inc.

My birthday is coming up on October 13, and this year, I’m celebrating by giving back to an organization that is deeply meaningful to me: Psychologists of Color, Inc. (POC).

I’ve had the privilege of serving on POC’s Board of Directors since it's inception in 2020, and I’m honored to currently serve as President of the Board. I’ve seen firsthand the importance of POC’s work to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the psychology workforce by supporting current and future psychologists of color.

Instead of birthday gifts, I’m asking my friends, family, colleagues, and community to help me reach my $2,500 fundraising goal for POC.

Why Your Support Matters

POC is 100% volunteer-run and 100% donation-supported. Every contribution helps us create opportunities for psychologists of color and strengthen a mental health workforce that better reflects the diverse communities we serve.

Your donation will directly support POC’s mentorship program, which connects psychologists of color at all stages of their career with mentors who understand the unique experiences and challenges of navigating the mental health profession as a person of color.

Mentorship can provide:

Guidance and support as psychologists navigate their education and careers
A trusted perspective on challenges related to racism, discrimination, and systemic barriers
Opportunities to develop culturally responsive and affirming clinical practices
Professional connection, encouragement, and community
Role models who can inspire the next generation of psychologists of color

When we invest in mentorship, we’re investing in the future of psychology.

A more diverse psychology workforce means greater opportunities to reduce barriers to culturally responsive, accessible, and effective mental health care for historically marginalized communities.

Help Me Reach $2,500

For my birthday this year, your donation is the gift I’m asking for.

Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever amount feels meaningful to you, your contribution will help POC continue creating valuable resources, connections, and opportunities for psychologists of color.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today and helping me reach my $2,500 goal.

And if you’re unable to donate, you can still make a difference: please share this fundraiser with friends, family, colleagues, or anyone who believes in building a more diverse and equitable mental health workforce.

Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me by supporting a cause I care so deeply about. Your generosity helps create a stronger, more inclusive future for the psychology profession... and, ultimately, for the communities we serve.

With deep gratitude,

Dr. Crystal Lee
