Meet Drew. Drew is a fourth grade boy at Bellerive Elementary in Creve Coeur who is turning 10 on March 20. When Drew isn't catching all the Pokemon around town, you can find him at Ninja classes, horseback riding, playing cello, participating in his scout troop, or playing basketball. Drew's favorite person in the world is his five year old little brother, Tyler.

But Drew is not your typical 10 year old – he’s a warrior in disguise. In 2019, Drew was diagnosed with brain cancer called Anaplastic Ependymoma. He received surgery and radiation at St. Louis Children's Hospital and was the hospital's youngest patient to do radiation without sedation. In 2021 Drew's cancer returned. This time he had surgery at Children's but went to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for 6.5 weeks for radiation. In early February 2023, a routine scan showed that Drew’s tumor had recurred and has been deemed inoperable. But Drew is a warrior and is ready to fight again! Drew’s family is looking into second opinions and clinical trials, but his options are limited due to the type of cancer and location.

While he can still enjoy being a kid, Drew’s family is creating the most amazing experiences for Drew with an extensive bucket list including things like meet and greets, adventures around town, and a few epic vacations this Spring! In addition, we anticipate Drew’s parents will need to take time away from work and incur additional medical expenses. As dedicated members of Drew’s Crew, we want to help the family in this difficult time.
