Every day is a big day at The Desert Trumpet. That’s because we’re here to cover the stories that matter most to the Morongo Basin— from ongoing Twentynine Palms City Hall, Yucca Valley Town Council and San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission coverage to monthly columns covering desert wildlife (Wildlife Wednesday), plants (Flora Friday) and our beautiful dark skies (Citizen Astronomer).

Doing this work takes people, time, and resources. And right now, we have a chance to make your support go even further. Today, we’re kicking off our biggest fundraiser of the year: NewsMatch, a nationwide campaign to support nonprofit newsrooms like ours.

From now until December 31, your donation to the Desert Trumpet will be matched by Newsmatch, doubling the impact of your gift up to $1,000. Throughout the campaign, we can raise up to $15,000 in matching funds!

🔷This is a great time to join the people who make our coverage possible.🔷

👉Be one of our first 50 new supporters — any amount helps us earn a $1,000 bonus.

👉👉👉Right now due to a special fund supporting news in rural areas, your gift is double matched — your $10 becomes $30 for Desert Trumpet.

👉Make it recurring and we get a full year’s match: $10 a month earns us an instant $120 kicker from Newsmatch!

Donations of $50 or more, or any recurring monthly gift of $5 or more, earns you a complimentary paid Desert Trumpet subscription. If you’re already a free subscriber, we’ll upgrade you; if not, we’ll add you to our list. Either way you’ll get the Sad Trombone arts and culture newsletter and discounts on DT Social events.
