Every day is a big day at The Desert Trumpet. That’s because we’re here to cover the stories that matter most to the Morongo Basin — from ongoing Twentynine Palms City Hall, Yucca Valley Town Council and San Bernardino County coverage to monthly columns on desert wildlife (Wildlife Wednesday), plants (Flora Friday) and our beautiful dark skies (Citizen Astronomer).

Doing this work takes people, time, and resources. And right now, we have a chance to make your support go even further. Today, we’re kicking off our biggest fundraiser of the year: NewsMatch, a nationwide campaign to support nonprofit newsrooms like ours.

From now until December 31, your donation to the Desert Trumpet will be matched by NewsMatch, doubling the impact of your gift up to $1,000. Throughout the campaign, we can raise up to $15,000 in matching funds!

👉Right now, thanks to a special fund for rural newsrooms, gifts are double matched. Renew your annual subscription early at a higher amount and the whole gift triples — $60 becomes $180 for Desert Trumpet

👉Flip your $50 annual subscription to a monthly donation and we get a full year’s match on the difference: $10 a month earns us an instant $70 kicker from NewsMatch!

👉Increase the amount of your monthly subscription and we get a full year’s match on the difference: $5 more a month earns us an instant $60 kicker from NewsMatch!

👉Or...make a one-time gift on top of your subscription, double matched right now

(If you flip or increase your subscription, we’ll turn off your Substack auto-renewal once your Givebutter gift processes. One-time gifts don’t change your subscription.)

Double your impact by making a gift today!
