DT Social 2

The Desert Trumpet is celebrating the end of our hot desert summer with a refreshing dip in the pool. DT Social 2 is taking place on Thursday, September 17 from 6:30-8:30pm at the unique El Bandito spread in Desert Heights. Attendees will be treated to refreshments provided by Más o Menos as well as bites from Chef Gary.

The fundraiser supports the Desert Trumpet, an independent nonprofit reporting on Morongo Basin politics, culture and environment. Paid subscriptions are optional and all reporting is free and available online. Subscription revenue pays a portion of the organization’s budget but does not cover reporting expenses or our recent expansion in coverage to Yucca Valley Town Hall and the County Board of Supervisors.

Monies raised at DT Social 2 will be used to report on the 2026 elections and underwrite our Twentynine Palms City Council Candidate Forum scheduled for Saturday September 26.

The Desert Trumpet is a nonprofit publication that seeks to increase political engagement and encourage a participatory political process by reporting on city government. Our goal is to also report on social justice, equity and environmental issues throughout the Morongo Basin, as well as provide a forum for residents to interact on these issues.
