Homeward Bound of Wooster & the Wayne County Homeless Shelter is inviting the community to come together through its Spread the Love campaign, aimed at raising funds, recruiting volunteers, and collecting essential supplies for individuals experiencing homelessness.

February is recognized as Homelessness Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges faced by individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This month serves as an opportunity to build empathy, break down stigma, and encourage action to address the issue. It highlights the importance of stable housing and the need for community support to help those in need.

The campaign highlights how small acts of kindness—donations, volunteering, and in-kind gifts—can restore dignity and provide hope to neighbors in need.

“Our goal is to remind the community that love looks like shelter, safety, and compassion,” said Brandon Barnes, Executive Director of Homeward Bound of Wooster and Wayne County. “Every contribution helps someone feel supported and valued.”

Community members can participate by donating funds, volunteering their time, or providing much-needed items such as hygiene supplies, socks, and cleaning products.
