The Eagle Club is the official fundraising arm of Winthrop Athletics. Our department relies on annual contributions by Eagle Club members to offset the cost of student-athlete scholarships, provide books to student-athletes, and fund 16 varsity sport programs. We aim to increase overall revenue and membership each year to keep up with the rising costs of running a successful athletics program and competing for Big South championships.

Your gift helps recruit, educate and train the highest caliber of student-athletes to help Winthrop be the best on and off the playing surface. The college athletics landscape is changing rapidly and now more than ever, your support is needed.

Rules:

Winthrop Eagle Club 50/50 Raffle OFFICIAL RULES

Please read these Official Rules carefully before purchasing a raffle ticket. By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you meet all requirements below and agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Winthrop Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

THE RAFFLE:
Tickets will be sold until 11:45 PM on February 28, 2026. At approximately 12:00 PM on March 2, 2026, one winning ticket will be randomly drawn. The winner will receive 50% of the gross proceeds from all raffle tickets sold. The other 50% will directly support the mission of the Winthrop Eagle Club.

ELIGIBILITY:
Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of ticket purchase. Executive Board members of the Winthrop Eagle Club Board of Directors (President, Vice-President, Immediate Past President, and Secretary), as well as immediate family members living in the same household, are not eligible to enter. The raffle is void where prohibited by law.

ENTRY & TICKETS:
Ticket prices vary based on the package chosen at check-out. They may be purchased through the GiveButter platform online only. Cash is not accepted. Participants do not need to be present during the drawing to win. Purchasers will receive an email as proof of entry. All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued.

DRAWING & WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT:
The winning ticket will be drawn at random from all eligible entries at approximately 12:00PM on Monday, March 2, 2026, in the Winthrop Athletics office. The winner will be contacted via phone and/or email as listed on their ticket stub. The winner's identity will be publicly disclosed.

CLAIMING A PRIZE:
The winner must present the matching ticket proof of purchase to claim their prize. If the prize is not claimed within 30 days, the Winthrop Foundation reserves the right to retain the winnings to further its mission through the Winthrop Eagle Club. Winners will be required to complete an IRS Form W-9 prior to payment.

TAX INFORMATION:
Raffle ticket purchases are not considered charitable donations under current IRS guidelines. The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on the prize amount. Please consult your tax advisor for more information. If the prize is over $600, the Winthrop Foundation will issue a Form 1099-MISC for tax reporting purposes.

CHANGES & DISQUALIFICATION:
The Winthrop Foundation and Winthrop Eagle Club reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the raffle at any time, including disqualifying any individual found to be tampering with the process or violating these rules.

Tampering with the raffle, attempting to resell tickets, or engaging in disruptive behavior may result in disqualification and legal action.
