The values and skills young people learn in sex ed classes – things like consent and bodily autonomy, respect for each other, how to handle rejection, how to build healthy relationships and navigate conflict peacefully – are fundamental to building communities strong enough to resist authoritarianism.

We know full well what the extremists are going to try to do, but whether they succeed is at least in part up to us. The least we can do is make sure they have everything they need to win the future.
