Join us for a night of virtual trivia, testimonials and good times while raising money for a cause to celebrate the unsung heroes of Emerge. Our staff.
Carrying on a commitment that began in 1976, Emerge’s team—and the circle of enthusiastic parents, case managers, volunteers, and local employers that make up the Emerge family—today offers supported living, residential, day and employment services to more than 450 individuals throughout central Maryland. Emerge is a Maryland-based organization supporting people with developmental, physical and mental health disabilities. Emerge is about helping people build lives, one person at a time.
This past year has been an exceptional year for the world. These uncertain times have impacted Emerge because our clients are unable to visit their elder parents safely, we need to purchase personal protection equipment for our employees and clients and our government funding has been disrupted.
We ask you learn about Emerge’s mission, join us for a fun night of trivia to fundraise, and help celebrate the heroes of Emerge
Emerge treats every individual entrusted to our program as just that—as a unique individual with his or her own personality and distinctive habits, not to mention special needs and often heartfelt personal preferences. Emerge is the choice for individuals with the most severe disabilities and complex personal situations, in large part because of this underlying approach to individualized support. Many individuals who thrive at Emerge have been turned away by other agencies. Emerge never gives up on an individual, and we steadfastly observe a no-discharge policy.
Our House Managers
Our house managers are licensed professionals to work with our customers. They teach our customers how-to living skills to live richer and freer lives. We support many kinds of living arrangements: services to individuals living in their own or in family homes, those who reside in supported living homes, and those in full residential facilities provided and managed by Emerge.
Our Job Coaches
With time, patience, insight, and a caring measure of support from staff members and other customers, we can create or arrange for daily work environments that enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. Emerge offers interest inventory and work evaluations, training programs for specific task skills and appropriate work behavior, job finding, on the job coaching, transportation, and assistance with coordination of benefits and other rehabilitation services.
Emerge has a therapeutic horticultural program. It is one of the oldest greenhouse and wholesale flower farms in Maryland. The program help clients develop skills in a fun way, learning to follow directions, develop good habits of interaction and socialization with peers, staff and future employers as well as fine tune motor skills.
