At Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville, we believe in fostering conscious, creative communities where the words and expression of women, girls, and individuals from all backgrounds are nurtured, developed, and celebrated. Together, we are contributing to cultural transformation and a more just, equitable society.

The Emerging Voices Fellowship was created to uplift younger writers whose stories and creativity deepen our collective understanding. Fellows apply their writing skills across our organization—publishing in our anthology, supporting newsletters and our website, crafting press releases, and contributing to art, photography, and journalistic projects.

This year, we are proud to name Shannon Driscoll as our Emerging Voices Fellow. A recent graduate of the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism with a focus on community justice, Shannon’s work reminds us of the power of amplifying new voices alongside established ones—ensuring their contributions are not only seen and heard, but celebrated.
