In rescue, her name is Grace because grace is exactly what carried her through.

Her future family calls her Emma. That is the name they whispered when they fell in love with her. That is the name she will answer to for the rest of her life.

This litter should never have survived.

They came into Bogey’s sick with ringworm, an overwhelming parasite load, and then the devastating diagnosis of parvo. We fought with everything we had. Sleepless nights. Constant monitoring. Hope balanced on a knife’s edge.

One of their brothers did not make it.
He passed away in our home, surrounded by love. His loss is forever a part of their story.

For the rest of the litter, we pursued monoclonal antibody treatment, giving them a chance when parvo so often takes everything. Against the odds, they lived.

Grace, now Emma, is one of those survivors.

But her fight is not over.

She was born with ectopic ureters, a congenital condition that leaves her completely incontinent. At just six months old, she goes through nine to twelve diapers every day, each one soaked. Even with round-the-clock care, there is leakage and discomfort. Things no puppy should have to endure.

And yet she is joyful. She is loving. She trusts people completely.

She even has something so many rescue dogs never find. A family ready to adopt her and love her forever.

What stands between Emma and a normal life is surgery.

Without it, her future holds chronic infections, ongoing discomfort, and a declining quality of life. With it, she can run, play, sleep through the night, and grow up without pain or diapers. Free to simply be a dog.

Her surgery at UGA Veterinary Hospital will cost just under six thousand dollars.

We will not ask her future family to bear this burden. That is not who Bogey’s is. We believe loving a rescue dog should never come with an impossible price tag.

Grace has already beaten ringworm.
She has already beaten parasites.
She has already beaten parvo.
She has already survived the loss of her brother.
