When Life Gets Hard, Puerto Peñasco Shows Up.

In February 2024, a small group of volunteers in Puerto Peñasco asked a simple question: What if we did something about hunger right here in our own town? What followed became Empty Bowls Puerto Peñasco — a 100% volunteer-run organization built on one belief: neighbors take care of neighbors.

Our town faces real challenges. Seasonal layoffs hit hard. Border issues ripple through local families. When tourism slows, so does income — and the families who feel it most are often the ones least able to ask for help. We partner with a local government agency and local food bank to identify families experiencing job loss, illness, or unexpected hardship, and we show up for them every single month.

In 2025 — our very first full year — you helped us raise over $26,000. We packed and distributed food bags to vetted families every single month of the year — 12 months in a row, without missing one. You exceeded our goal. You proved this community shows up.

Now we're asking you to do it again.

Our 2026 goal is $30,000. Not to end hunger — but to keep showing up, month after month, for the real families in this real town who need a hand. $20 fills a bag with real food staples — the flour, beans, rice, and pasta, and more that keep a family's kitchen going. Every dollar stays here. Every bag goes to a neighbor.
